Notes from the Lab

Taking my online safety training:

In the event of an earthquake you should:

1. panic

2. duck and cover

3. jump out the nearest window

4. look out the window

Oh, I choose option 3. Definitely.

Now I would have taken 4, then 3, then 1 when you realize you aren't on the first floor :)

I agree. You can't just decide these things in a vacuum. You have to know how high up you are, and what there is to break your fall.

Right, but if an earthquake is occurring, and you know your course of action is to jump out a window, wouldn't you complete it anyway? I mean, maybe gravity doesn't apply during an earthquake. Who knows what crazy things could happen.
