Hi! Well, this week has been very very interesting! I feel like I've been here for a month already, and yet we haven't even been here for a Monday of class yet! It's so strange! Anyway, let's see, I've switched classes, and added a fifth class, and danced, and talked with friends, and had fun! Tuesday, we had more guys than girls at Lindy again! It was so fun! The girls were in demand! Yay! :) I got elbowed in the mouth by Keith at the very beginning, I'm not sure how it happened. It was rather strange, and he felt really bad! It didn't hurt too badly, so it was OK, I just wasn't sure what happened! Apparently Lindy will continue on Tuesdays and Saturdays, because Tatsu's night class was cancelled, so he's going to do more advanced things on Tuesday for those of us who have been here before, and Saturdays are the beginner lessons. So yesterday, those of us girls who know what we're doing, went to the beginner lesson to learn to lead. It was kind of fun, but really hard! I have a real respect for guys now, because they actually have to think and plan while they are dancing, which is really hard! But then I was talking to Jonah, and he thinks following is harder than leading. So maybe it's just what you learn to do first? I don't know. It's interesting though. Emily's decided that we need to keep going back so that she and I can dance with each other like Jon and Tatsu do, and switch who's leading in the middle of a song! I think it's going to take quite a while before we are even close to being able to do that! Sarra and I have been practicing cha-cha almost everyday, to get ready for the auditions which are two weeks away! It's kind of nerve racking, having to change things right before, but that's why we're practicing, so that it becomes natural before we actually have to get out there and perform for Wes. The good thing is that he made a comment to me on Wednesday that shows that he knows I'm dedicated, which is good! I hope the fact that he kind of knows us will go in our favor a bit! It's cheating to say that, but I hope! Anyway, we need to get a boy to practice with us! We're debating who knows the most and can help us! We learned quickstep in class on Wed.! It was so cool! We learned more in that one class than we learned in a week in social! There were eight girls, and four guys, it was just perfect! I hope it stays that way! Classes are all good. Core and Women in Music go right along with each other, because for both, I was reading things about the theory of feminism. It was very interesting. I'm not sure I agree with it all, but it was very interesting. Those are going to be fun! Bio. should be good! I like my prof., except that he has really messy handwriting! Fortunately, most of the notes are on powerpoint! Which is very nice! Latin is good, as usual. That class hasn't changed much, except that we lost Katherine. That was sad, but we gained another, except that she goes by Casey. :) Math is interesting. Mostly review right now. Sarra thinks that we did some Linear Alg. and Diff. Eq. in BC. It's possible. The first day of class, we had an example of beer vats, and people drinking the beer, and the next example was bunnies on the Pitzer campus. I was trying to imagine Mr. Wright doing either of those, and it just doesn't work. Prof. Jacobsen definitely has a different sense of humor, but in a way, he reminds me of Mr. Wright. Anyway, I better go finish reading Mendelian genetics! Yay! It's review of ninth grade, and it's amazing how much of it I remember! But, I'm getting ahead for the week! Busy busy! :)
