Bold Ariel 16

So, apparently there's a hot key in Word, or set of them rather, that allows you to select an entire paragraph and change the formatting around. I didn't know this. And so, when I was on the phone trying to select a word, instead, my entire paragraph became huge, bold, and a totally different font. I of course was thoroughly surprised, and thought this was absolutely hilarious. I laughed for several minutes, so hard that Sandor couldn't even understand what I was saying when I was trying to explain what had happened. So, somewhere in the realm of the shift, control, and left arrow key, there is a combination which will change your formatting around. Good luck explorers. ;)

Pictures

More to come, but there are pictures up from things way back when. Check out posts After CalTech Actually, and Oregon Holidays for starters. I'll be putting others up soon. Enjoy!

Here are some random pictures that I didn't already have posts for, but wanted to share anyway.

More Serenity

So, if you haven't seen the movie, don't read this. If you have, read This!

It's so great! Just thought I would share for those who haven't seen it already. Thanks Becca for sharing with me. :)

After CalTech Actually

So, Paul and I competed at CalTech last Saturday, our first competition of the year. We got there incredibly early, which was fine because we had some time to practice on the floor (which was much smaller than we're used to dancing on), and to go into Pasadena and get food for the boys before we got ready to compete. Chris called me when I was in the dressing room, in the middle of applying my fake eyelashes, to make sure I was there. I was thoroughly amused.

Paul and I were both a little nervous, but when we actually got out on the floor, it all worked, neither of us forgot any of the choreography, our floorcraft together was good (although we almost hit another couple, it was a little too close for my comfort), and it just felt really good. It was a little strange, dancing in our costumes, but it worked. We were really impressed with ourselves. Three weeks of practice, and we came off pretty darn well.

Chris's main complaint was with our dance position, I apparently looked tense, which is bad. But, you know, considering I actually was quite nervous, not surprising. We ended up placing 4th out of 5 couples. Not bad for our first go at it. Chris would have placed us 3rd, as would Troy apparently. The thing that makes me really happy is that apparently it looked like we dominated the floor, the other couples were getting out of our way, not the other way around. Which is awesome. I'm not quite sure how we pulled that off, except that we're very used to travelling more than we were allowed to because of the size of the floor, but that's awesome. Now, if we can just fix our dance position, and dominate the floor, we'll do wonderfully! Ahh, more practice ahead.

We've actually been working on our dance position (and that's about it) this week. It is getting better. But I never realized just how exhausting working on dance position can be! And it feels so horrible. I'm sure we'll get used to it, that it's a product of it being new. But ew, it feels so gross! And tiring. Ah well, it'll be well worth the work when we actually get it so that we can dance with it, because then we'll look good. :) We're planning to compete again at least at UCSD in the beginning of March, we'll see what else comes up. Hopefully our hard work will pay off and we'll actually place 3rd next time...
